The Zerode G-1 is Zerode's full downhill specific frame.
Suspension:- 9.25" of travel. High pivot for unmatched bump swallowing ability.
Zerode bikes use a high pivot which allows the rear wheel to move "away" from (instead of towards) obstacles in its path. This makes the suspension so responsive you can glide over bigger braking bumps, deeper ruts and uglier roots than you ever thought possible.
Handling:
One of the key goals in chassis design is moving weight from the extremities to the middle of the vehicle, as well as reducing the weight of the unsprung parts.
On Zerode gearbox bikes the weight of the derailleur and cluster is removed from the wheel and placed in the middle of the frame. This makes the bike more manoeuvrable, better balanced, with better suspension. Meaning you can ride faster over rougher terrain than on a conventional bike.
Pedaling:- Zerode's pedaling geometry eliminates pedal bob while suspension remains 100% active.
Zerode bikes have eliminated pedal bob.
This statement is not to be laughed at. A conventional mountain bike must lock out it's suspension one way or another to stop pedal bob. I.e, you have a choice between active suspension "or" pedaling well.
The Zerode bike design neutralizes pedal bob by using the higher pivot to balance weight transfer and pedaling effects against each other. This is only possible with a gearbox and diverted chain line.
Gearbox:- Gear box for exceptional shifting and low maintenance.
The key to the Zerode bike design is the use of an internal gearbox.
Yes, Zerode gearbox bikes are very cool because you don't have to replace your drive train every six months ( think single speed maintenance), you can change gear under full load, you can change gear when you are not pedalling, you never need to tune your gears and you will never rip your derailleur off again. Coolness aside, the Zerode Gearbox allows the high pivot placement and the ability to pedal without feedback over rough, rooty, stepped terrain whilst the suspension remains active. Once you ride it you will understand....
